Using the site

When you visit SKC Weather, your browser sends technical information needed to deliver the page, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time. Hosting infrastructure may record this information in operational or security logs. Avoid putting sensitive personal information in page URLs or location searches.

Location and saved settings

Some weather tools ask your browser for location permission. You can deny or revoke it in browser settings. A location you search for or select, and coordinates used to request a point forecast or plume, are sent to the services needed to return that result. Viewer preferences, map positions, location-search results and recent plume references may be saved in your browser’s local storage. Clear this website’s stored data in your browser to remove those local records; this does not remove server-side requests or generated results.

Third-party services

Maps, software libraries and location services may require requests to other providers, who receive technical request information such as your IP address. Services used by the viewers include Esri/ArcGIS, OpenStreetMap-related services and the unpkg software CDN. Their practices are described by Esri, the OpenStreetMap Foundation and unpkg. Map attribution identifies the applicable source. Following an external link also takes you to that provider’s site.

Advertising and cookies

Live advertising is not enabled, and unused advertising spaces are hidden. The Google account-verification meta tag and ads.txt seller record identify the publisher and do not load advertising scripts.

If Google advertising is enabled later, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow it and its partners to personalize advertising across sites. Learn how Google uses information from partner sites and manage personalized advertising through Google My Ad Center. Other participating advertising vendors may use their own cookies; their identities and applicable choices will be provided before those services are activated. Applicable consent choices must be in place before live advertising begins. Verified ad-free members will be excluded before advertising scripts initialize. Free accounts and Premium subscriptions are available. Advertising remains disabled for all visitors.

Accounts

We use Supabase authentication for account creation, email confirmation, sign-in and password recovery. Resend delivers authentication emails using your email address and delivery information. Account email and membership status support account access, and session cookies keep users signed in. Never share a password or recovery link with support.

Payments and membership

Premium checkout and subscription management use Stripe/Link. You enter payment details through the provider’s checkout, not in a support email. Stripe/Link processes billing and payment information and provides transaction documents and payment support. SKC Weather uses payment and subscription identifiers, status, paid periods and refund events to manage Premium access and support. Complimentary access is managed separately from paid access.

If you contact support, your message and reply details are used to address your request. Do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary precise location information.
